I knew I had to lose belly fat because I was no longer fitting in my clothes and when I looked in the mirror I wanted to immediately look away. I just did not like what I saw. I know I need to change my diet, so I went on a vegetable diet (instead of rice, I would replace it with vegetables). I cannot be a vegetarian, sorry. I live meat too much.

However, I tried to decrease my food portions and I also tried to eat earlier because I learned that the metabolism slowed down after certain hours and of course, after certain age and if you are over 40 like I am, you really have a slower metabolism no matter how much exercise you do.

You don’t have to do surgery to have those fat cells shrink for you. Practice sucking in that tummy when you sit or stand. It can become a ritual and a new habit. It works. I worked with someone years ago who had just given birth to a baby and in six weeks her stomach was as flat as a board. I asked her how she did it. I thought it must have been breastfeeding, but she said that she sucked in her stomach until her stomach obeyed her and shrunk. I believed her.

I would also recommend that you use a blender to create vegetable juice and fruit juice instead of eating them whole. This is easier to digest and does a better job in juice format than whole.
Try sitting up straight instead of slumping down in a chair and ruining your posture. You also weaken your stomach muscles when you do that. Join a yoga class. It is truly refreshing and helps you to stretch those stomach muscles, which result in a flatter stomach.

Did you also know that stress causes belly fat? Yes, it does. Get enough sleep and stop worrying about things that you cannot change. Do meditations in the morning or at a time convenient to you so you can clear your mind.

To lose belly fat is striking a balance with what you eat, what you do to raise your level of energy and exercise, when possible and what you allow yourself to dwell on.
