The trick is to learn all you can about two things. Your acne, or type of acne, and the type of skin you have. Lets look at acne first.
Our sebaceous glands produce oil called sebum which fouls up the hair follicles and contributes to acne but this is not the only substance responsible. Acne seems to be a condition that is not necessarily a natural one and something that past generations did not suffer with.
Acne Cures
Fortunately there is hope in treating your acne. We should start with the simple and move to the more complex. The type of soap you are using on your acne could have a big effect on your skin. Try different soaps and see if that helps. Next would be any makeup or lotions you use. Many times the stuff we put on the skin is the real problem. Then, what type of moisturizer you are using or not using. Dry skin can cause acne. Don’t use if you have oily skin. Next would be the types of food you eat. Dairy being one that can cause you to break out.
Acne Medication
For a recurring or severe case of acne, many sufferers turn to a dermatologist for a more aggressive treatment and in most cases, a prescribed routine and medication can help to treat acne. In most cases, a follow-up visit will be scheduled so that the doctor may monitor the patient’s progress and determine whether additional steps should be taken to treat the problem. Cleanliness is important, especially beneath the fingernails where germs and bacteria can be found and infect the already sensitive skin condition by scratching.
Acne Treatment Advice
The problem comes about because most people do not realize that bacteria and germs cannot normally be seen by the naked eye and they believe if their nails look clean they are safe. Therefore any contact between an acne sufferer’s hands and affected areas should be avoided if possible.
Research has shown that if your parents had acne, you’ll probably have it as well and very few people have perfect skin, so it is a very common skin disorder among almost every single person. In the vast majority of acne cases though, it is caused by the transition from a child to an adult and the changes that take place during this period.
Nevertheless it is still best to contact a skin specialist before you start any type of medication.
